City of Edmonds

Edmonds, WA is located within the Seattle Tacoma Bellevue metropolitan area. In the 1990’s Edmonds was known as a mill town due to the ten mills that used to reside along the waterfront. As the bigger trees were cut down, mills closed. The last mill in operation closed in 1951. The mill days of Edmond can still be seen at historical sites and the Historical Museum.

Today, there are waterfront parks and public access to beaches all within walking distance of downtown Edmonds. In addition, the Pedestrian and Bicycle Plan section of Edmonds’ Transportation plan were updated in 2009 to actively support walking and biking as a safe alternative to driving. There is even an off leash area for dogs and their owners. Dogs are permitted and encourage d to run, swim, play and meet new friends without a lead.
